FAQs
Toilet paper produced from virgin forest trees is one of the most wasteful products, destroying whole forests for a single-use product. Regular toilet paper devastates 27,000 trees a day, roughly 9 million a year and releases 65% more carbon emissions than bamboo toilet paper. The chemicals in regular toilet roll contain chemicals that poison our waterways and damage marine life. Bamboo Bobbi is completely natural and free from bleach, chemicals, inks, dyes, scents and plastic.
WHY IS BAMBOO BETTER FOR THE ENVIRONMENT?
Bamboo is the world’s fastest-growing plant and is rapidly renewable. Bamboo plants grow very quickly, up to 3ft in one day and can be harvested within 3-5 years, in comparison hardwood trees take 30-60 years. Bamboo absorbs 5 times more carbon dioxide than trees and produces 35% more oxygen. Bamboo also requires no pesticides or fertilisers and only needs rainwater to grow.
The raw bamboo comes from Chishui, Guizhou Province 5 kilometres from where our factory is located. This is around 180km from the port in Chongqing. We ship by sea freight to the UK. Sea freight is recognised as one of the most carbon-efficient methods of transport available. We transport to our warehouse by road transport using the UK’s Most Sustainable Delivery Company. We know that’s a long way away, so that’s why we calculate all our carbon emissions and offset our CO2 through ClimatePartner, they help us complete our corporate and product carbon footprint. ClimatePartner audits the results, validates the figures, and provides a tracking number to a database so the results can be accessed by third parties. We are proudly carbon neutral.
WHERE IS BAMBOO BOBBI MADE?
IF IT'S MADE OVERSEAS, HOW IS IT TRANSPORTED TO THE UK AND DO YOU OFFSET THE CARBON EMISSIONS?

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE CARBON NEUTRAL?
Companies, processes and products become carbon neutral when they calculate their carbon emissions and compensate for what they have produced via carbon offsetting projects. Offsetting carbon emissions, in addition to avoidance and reduction, is an important step in climate action. We have also made incremental changes within our business, like agreeing with the team to stop bringing in single-use plastic packaging and bottles, creating local recycling guides for the public, compiling monthly ‘transport to work emissions’ reports, and asking suppliers to eliminate unnecessary packaging.
WHAT DOES FSC CERTIFIED MEAN?
It means that all of our bamboo comes from and is made with 100% Forest Stewardship Council approved forest-based materials. Our certificate gets renewed every year to make sure our bamboo forests, factories and their employees are still being looked after to the correct standard.
WHY AREN’T YOUR ROLLS INDIVIDUALLY WRAPPED?
It's unnecessary to use fancy wrapping or packaging this only adds weight and uses additional resources like water, bleach and inks. Plus it increases costs for customers.
IS YOUR PRODUCT AND PACKAGING COMPLETELY PLASTIC-FREE?
Yes. Being plastic-free is very important to us, we believe it is completely unnecessary, we feel that paper is the most sustainable choice.
CAN THE CARDBOARD BOXES BE RECYCLED?
Yes, they can.
WHAT IS THE INNER CORE MADE FROM?
Recycled cardboard
ARE YOUR PRODUCTS VEGAN?
Yes. We don’t use any animal-derived ingredients. We also do not test on animals, and no animal testing takes place within our supply chain.
IS THIS BAMBOO THE SAME THAT PANDAS EAT?
No, the pandas eat a completely different species of bamboo.
IS BAMBOO BOBBI SUITABLE FOR SENSITIVE SKIN?
Yes. Bamboo is naturally soft, hypoallergenic, antibacterial and antifungal, free from bleach, inks, dyes, scents.
IS BAMBOO BOBBI PAPER SUITABLE FOR SEPTIC TANKS AND COMPOSTING TOILETS?
Yes. Our toilet paper has been tested and it breaks down just like any other toilet paper. it is suited to both of these systems.
WHAT IF I’M NOT SATISFIED WITH MY ORDER?
Just email us at sales@bamboobobbi.com and our team will respond within 1-2 working days.
WHY IS REGULAR TOILET PAPER BAD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT?
